The Ohio Chapter of the Appraisal Institute's Scholarship Committee has announced the inaugural 2023 Diversity Scholarship has been awarded to Demarcus Parker.
Mr. Demarcus Parker is a Real Estate professional with 8 years of working experience in property assessment/valuations. He is married with 3 children and is currently employed by the Franklin County Auditor’s office as the Chief Hearing Officer for the Board of Revision. Along with two other representatives, that sit on the board, he conducts hearings regarding property taxation and valuation of both commercial and residential properties and performs his due diligence for each case through research to accurately define the problem and draw a valid conclusion. In addition, Mr. Parker assists the public with inquiries regarding the Board of Revision process and procedures including status updates on cases.
Mr. Parker is interested in furthering his career in the Appraisal industry to build a legacy not only for his children but for others in the years to follow. It is his aspiration as a real estate appraisal professional to educate members of the community who are not familiar with the appraisal industry, property taxation and valuation. In addition, it is his hope to inspire, serve and create other opportunities for minorities who may be interested in getting into the appraisal field.
